![]() How Can I Contribute Content to the Site ?The website offers lots of opportunity for you to contribute your comments and views. As this is primarily a family website, we ask that no offensive material be added. Different points of view and constructive suggestions are welcomed. You can keep track of the contributions that you have made by viewing the "Your Updates" series of pages...
If you want to comment on the site in general, or leave a note to help other visitors, then the Guestbook is a good place to add this. The Guestbook allows you to add an entry, reply to others entries and also to come back later and modify or delete your entry. You can choose to remain anonymous, or to provide personal details such as your email address. Your email address is displayed on the site as an image which will prevent web crawlers from harvesting your address for sale to email spam databases. GuestbookIf you wish to research your own family tree and would like to add a note to a page of our family tree, then you can easily do so. This will allow others to read the note and perhaps help you resolve some missing connections in your family tree. Who knows maybe the Guthrie-Thomson, Alexander (1854) in my tree is really the same Alexander Guthrie-Thomson who appears in your tree. To add a note to a member of our family tree, visit the page, and then click the "Add Note" button at the bottom of the page. This will open a page where you can add the note. All notes will be displayed at the bottom of the family tree pages, and will of course be included in site searches. In time the web crawlers will find your note and it will them become searchable via search engines like Google and Yahoo. Family Tree NotesMuch in the same way as you can add a note to a page on the Family Tree, almost all pages of the site also allow you to add a note. This can be done to help other visitors, to point to related information on other web sites or simply to put your own point of view. You will be able to visit your contributions later, modify them, and if you wish, delete them. The notes should be vaguely relevant to the page and should not contain "visit my site now, or make a million today !" type spam messages. I will simply delete them if they start to appear. To add a note to a page, click on the "Add Note" button at the bottom of the page. Latest Page Notes Added
