![]() What Software Is Used ?The Site is developed using a small number of ASP.Net (active Server Pages) pages, which use HTML (Hyper Text MarkUp Language) and Visual Basic. The content for the site is stored in an Microsoft Access 2000 database. The look and feel of the site is done using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). The ASP.Net Pages were hand crafted using a text editor, either NotePad or TextPad, one of many shareware text editors out there. I have used Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft Interdev as well as Visual Studio .NET to do ASP.Net developement, but always seem to come back to simple text editors to get the job done quickly and efficiently. File Transfer to the Web Server is done using Ipswitch WS-FTP Pro. Graphics SoftwareGraphics are mostly done using Paint Shop Pro version 7, and the 3D graphics are done using the free Xara 3D tool. You may also recognise a lot of the icons and graphics from other web sites. My handwriting was digitised with an old version of DataBecker YourHandwriting. Most of the content is stored in the Access database and is entered via a series of ASP.Net data entry pages. The pages are served via the Web and provide the normal Add, Delete, Update as well as some History and other functionality. Our Data Entry Pages(mostly restricted access) In addition, we have developed a large number of very powerful HTML extensions which are used throughout the site to access the database and format the content as the author requires. These are simple text strings which are then interpreted by a layer before presenting the content to the viewers web browser. Other HTML Help
Looking at our code...We are naturally protective of the product of years of development effort. Unfortunately you have not been granted access to view the ASP code which we have developed and which is used in this site.
